MBABANE:Sabelo Dlamini, the Director of the State owned Radio Station has been implicated in rampant corruption in that, he allegedly “demands ten-percent(10%) from journalists assigned to cover King Mswati’s international trips and other trips involving Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini”.

It has been disclosed that, each trip normally comes with about five hundred thousand Rands(R500,000.00) traveling allowance and this means, journalists are always expected to pay Dlamini and other administrators of the State owned Radio Station at least fifty thousand Rands(R50,000.00) as a bribe in order to be considered for future international trips.

But the Director recently failed to respond and clarify the upcoming King Mswati’s United Nations(UN) General Assembly trip awarded to Chief editor Bekizwe Maveni Gwebu.

On another note, Mtfongwaneni Member of Parliament(MP) Nathie Hlophe successfully launched a Parliament motion this week, seeking to investigate the State owned Radio Station.

“At EBIS, international travel opportunities are allegedly monopolized by the newsroom, with little to no inclusion of other departments,” reads the motion in part.

It has been disclosed that, the corruption intensified while Gcinangaye Tsabedze was holding the position of Deputy Director and continued even under Sabelo Dlamini’s administration.
