MBABANE:Zweli Martin Dlamini, the editor of this Swaziland News has urged emaSwati to adopt the “Nawe uliphoyisa” slogan during the ongoing Army recruitment announced by King Mswati.
The editor said “he is in possession of critical information suggesting that, Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze accepted one hundred thousand Rands(R100,000.00) each from some emaSwati and is now under pressure to recruit” those aspiring soldiers.
“I therefore urge emaSwati who will participate or qualify to be recruited in the various Tinkhundla Centres to share information when detecting corruption. Don’t wait until they sideline you, report corruption immediately so that we can monitor the whole Army recruitment process and ensure that it’s corruption free. Our role as the media is to hold those in power accountable and exposing corruption forms part of our mandate to ensure fairness and equal access to such employment opportunities,” said the editor.
The Army Commander has been making headlines in this publication for allegedly engaging in corruption, he failed to clarify these allegations.
On another note, Dlamini urged those who will participate in the recruitment within the various Tinkhundla Centres, to monitor those who might receive special treatment. He said the Army Commander “has allegedly advised some of those who bribed him to also participate in the recruiment so that, it could appear as if they were recruited from the Tinkhundla Centres.
