MBABANE:Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini says, the launch of the Southern African Development Community(SADC) Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Platform, the Eswatini National Platform for DRR and the Eswatini Drought Centre of Excellence reiterates the region's shared commitment to build a safer, resilient and sustainable future, Government online platforms reported.
It has been reported that, the PM was speaking during the triple launch, hosted by the National Disaster Management Agency(NDMA) on Wednesday under the theme; “Towards a resilient SADC”, he said these platforms will serve as spaces for dialogue. coordination, and joint action.
“These platforms will act as a springboard for the dissemination of information on disaster risk reduction as well as enhancing governance within the space.This event re-affirms our shared commitment in building a safer, resilient, and sustainable future for our region. For the Kingdom of Eswatini, this commitment is encapsulated in our Nkwe Programme of Action 2024-2029, particularly Objective 4, which seeks to improve food sovereignty and sustainable development by the year 2029,” said the Prime Minister.
