MBABANE:Kenyan President William Ruto has amplified the call for the African continent to have permanent seats in the United Nations Security Council.
King Mswati of eSwatini recently shared the sentiments, calling for recognition and respect of Africans, the King wants Africa to have permanent seats and be represented in the UN Security Council to enhance the UN’s credibility.
As reported by Aljazeera, President Ruto told the UN General Assembly this week that, excluding Africa from permanent Security Council membership is unfair and undermines the UN’s credibility, noting the continent bears the “heaviest cost of instability.
