MBABANE:Linda Jele, a State controlled radio journalist allegedly assaulted his textile worker girlfriend and the criminal case was sabotaged at the Mbabane Magistrate’s Court.
Jele was not thrown behind bars for this alleged Gender Based Violence(GBV) case, he was told to appear in court and subsequently, “the prosecutors told the victim that, the matter cannot proceed because she is still in pain”.
The victim has since recovered but the prosecutors are now avoiding Jele’s girlfriend who is seeking clarity when would the matter be reinstated back to court.
Jele said he will comment later about the alleged GBV case when contacted by this Swaziland News, he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend after being asked “bongayibambi ngani phone”.
Eswatini is facing escalating cases of GBV and the Government has been refusing to declare Gender Based Violence a National Disaster.
