MBABANE:Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has urged Accountants and Auditors to take the lead in "bridging the trust deficit," and further uphold transparency and accountability principles.

The Prime Minister was speaking at the Annual Eswatini Institute of Accountants(ESIA) dinner and Graduation Ceremony on Thursday night at eSibayeni Lodge, held under the theme: “Bridging the Trust Deficit: The Role of Leaders in Rebuilding Public Confidence.”

“Trust is not given. It must be earned, nurtured, and protected. Government is under siege by entrenched corruption. We must build a new culture of zero tolerance to corruption. To bridge the trust deficit, we must embody the values we champion, acting with integrity even when it is difficult, communicating with honesty even when the truth is uncomfortable, and always prioritising the public interest above all else,” he said as quoted by Government online platforms.

The PM reminded the new graduates that graduating is the beginning not the end.

“As you join this noble profession, uphold integrity, embrace accountability, and champion excellence,” he said.
