MBABANE:King Mswati’s United Nations(UN) General Assembly delegation will allegedly share over R50million public funds as traveling allowances amid socio-economic challenges including shortage of drugs in public hospitals.
The delegation of over one hundred(100) people includes King Mswati’s children, security officers, King’s Office employees, Cabinet Ministers, State controlled journalists and other Government officials, each official will allegedly cash over five hundred thousand Rands(R500,000.00) as a traveling allowance depending on seniority.
King Mswati’s Spokesperson previously told this Swaziland News that “his Office is not responsible for the processing allowances”, he referred this publication to Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Pholile Dlamini-Shakantu who was not immediately available for a comment.
On another note, eSwatini, a tiny Kingdom ruled by Mswati as an absolute Monarch, is facing a health crisis amid shortage of drugs in public hospitals,dozens have died since the crisis erupted triggered by rampant looting in the public administration.
It has been disclosed that, the Government through the Ministry of Finance had to temporarily halt payments of suppliers just to ensure that, members of the King’s delegation have enough money for the trip.
The Government has been relying on foreign aid or donations to fund social services while the uncontrolled royal extravagance continues.
