MP Mthandeni Dube’s release postponed to next week, Correctional Services messengers visit uMphakatsi to communicate King’s decision to forgive him.

NGWEMPISI:The release of convicted Member of Parliament(MP) Mthandeni Dube has been postponed to next week but, senior Correctional Services officers have already visited his uMphakatsi to communicate the King’s decision to forgive him.

The Senior Correctional Services within the Executive Command told editor Zweli Martin Dlamini that, Dube was supposed to be released this week but, his royal emissary Justice Minister Prince Simelane who convinced the King to release him on parole and expressed the wish to greet the MP on his first day of ‘freedom’ might be busy with other royal duties this week hence the postponement.

“He was supposed to be released this week but the Justice Minister expressed his wish to welcome him on his first day of freedom hence the postponement, angiliboni liphela kodvwa leliviki lelitako angakaphumi nakuhambe kahle, we will inform you,” said a senior Correctional Officer within the Executive Command when speaking to the editor.

Efforts to reach Deputy Correctional Services Spokesperson Baphelele Kunene proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
