MBABANE:Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, the KwaZulu Natal(KZN) Provincial Police Commissioner says, Crime Intelligence Officers can listen to cellphones without informing the owners if they believe a crime has been or about to be committed, eNCA reported.
The Provincial Commissioner was responding to members of the Parliament ad-hoc Committee on Tuesday amid investigation into alleged political interference into the operations of the South African Police Service(SAPS).
The Committee wanted to know how Mkhwanazi or the Crime Intelligence obtained some of the information.
