MBABANE:Phetsile Masilela, the Executive Director of Junior Achievement(JA) has resigned from the organization, Board Chairman Meluleki Dlamini confirmed to this Swaziland News on Monday morning.

The Executive Director was facing an investigation after young people complained that, they did not receive the donor funds allocated to finance their projects despite signing funding agreements.

Responding to this publication, the Board Chairman said an investigation or audit was conducted and the Executive Director was found to be clean.

“We can confirm Nkhosi that a report was presented to the Board by the South African audit firm and it was discovered that, she never stole any cent, it was an issue of misplaced receipts and re-allocation. So the Executive Director is clean, she just engaged the Board and asked to resign to explore other opportunities”, said the Board Chairman.

It has been disclosed that, the donors commissioned the investigation or audit after the widely reported complaints from the youth and Phetsile Masilela was found to be clean.

Efforts to reach the resigned Executive Director proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.

But when asked to clarify the re-allocation, the Board Chairman said, the missing funds were found by the South African audit firm to have been allocated to other projects.

“The funds were not stolen by the Executive Director but, they were allocated to other project, that’s what the auditors found. So as per the audit report, we can confidently confirm that, she is leaving Junior Achievement(JA) with clean hands, she never stole any cent”, said the Board Chairman.
