LOBAMBA: Lusendvo Fakudze, the Ludzidzini Royal Palace Governor said he was not surprised that Queen Mantfombi Dlamini has been appointed as the new interim leader of the Zulu Nation.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Monday, the Governor said the daughter of King Sobhuza II was not \'forced\' to marry the Zulu King through the kwendzisa traditional custom but it was the late King Goodwill Zwelithini who proposed love to her, in SiSwati, the Governor said wakhiwa.
News24, a South African publication quoting a statement by Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi reported on Monday that a meeting would be held on Wednesday to discuss the King’s will. It remains unclear whether the appointment of the next King will be discussed during the proposed meeting.
“Kufanele vele, phela akendziswanga, wakhiwa ngiyo iNkhosi Zwelithini, kunesizatfu.(meaning:She (Queen MaNtfombi Dlamini Zulu) was not \'forced\' to marry King Zwelithini but he came here to propose, he had a purpose” said the Governor.
