MBABANE:Major Olly Peter Nyirenda has written a book amid corruption and the breakdown in the administration of the military under Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze.

The book titled “The Very Very Best Bad 4-Star General”, highlights issues that need to be addressed as a matter of urgency and, in the interest of State security.

It comes amid a series of investigative reports published by this independent online publication exposing the current Army Commander but, the book is also highlighting achievements of the Army under the previous leadership compared to the current challenges.

The issues highlighted in the book include corruption, nepotism, favoritism, injustice, mediocrity, self-interest agenda manifesting into alleged serious division within the Executive Command.

Responding to this publication, Army Spokesperson Lieutenant Tengetile Khumalo confirmed the book but clarified that, “it’s a literacy project of the author in his personal capacity and therefore”, not a policy of the military as a State security institution.

“The Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF)Public Affairs Office is cognizant of the recently published book in question. The Public Affairs Office though, wishes to clarify that this is a personal literary project by one of our senior officers, authored in his private capacity. The contents, views, and perspectives expressed in the book do not represent or reflect the official position or policy of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force. For any details and clarifications in this regard, kindly refer directly to the author,” said the Army Spokesperson.

On another note, even though the book highlights critical issues that cannot be disclosed or published as doing so might undermine State Security but, top Generals within the Army are highly looking up to the Commander-in-Chief to restore order amid the breakdown in the administration of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defense Force(UEDF).

Reached for comments by this Swaziland News on Sunday, the top Military Officer confirmed writing the book but, declined to discuss the contents.

“I can confirm that I authored the book. But I had a few copies reserved for consultations before it reached out to the public.However, out of deep respect for Their Majesties, the Monarchy, and the institution I proudly serve as an officer of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force, I am not in a position to discuss or comment on the contents of the book at this time”, said the top Military Officer.

But sources within royalty told this publication that, the book has been submitted to King Mswati, the Commander-in-Chief of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defense Force.

It has been disclosed that,in an effort to restore unity and loyalty, the King might soon announce major changes in the leadership of the Army as the situation deteriorates under Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze’s leadership thus thretening State security.
