MBABANE:Prince Sicalo, the Principal Secretary(PS) in the Ministry of Defense and State Security has applauded Information, Communications and Technology(ICT) Minister Savannah Maziya for empowering women in the country.
The Principal Secretary was speaking during a press conference last week shortly after the Minister who doubles as the Global Chairperson for SDG 5, announced a peacekeeping Dubai-United Arab Emirates(UAE) peacekeeping training for two(2) female Army officers First Lt. LomaGugu Hlatshwako and Second Lt. Agape Simelane.
SDG 5 is the United Nations fifth Sustainable Development Goal that seeks to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
It also aims to eliminate discrimination, end violence and harmful practices, ensure access to sexual and reproductive health and rights, and further promote women’s leadership and economic opportunities. This goal is considered a fundamental human right, essential for achieving a peaceful and prosperous world.
