MBABANE:Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has urged churches to self-regulate or be subjected to Government regulation.
Responding to a question asked by Mbabane East Member of Parliament(MP) Welcome Dlamini who warned against the regulation of churches, the Prime Minister clarified that Government will not regulate churches but might consider doing so in the future.
“Government has not yet decided to regulate churches but might consider doing so if churches fail to self-regulate. The current Home Affairs Ministry exercise is meant to compile a database for churches, it’s not a regulation,” said the Prime Minister.
