MBABANE:Jeremy Liang,the Ambassador of Taiwan wants Prince Magudvulela removed as the Chief of Ntfonjeni merely for visiting the People’s Republic of China(PRC), he is accusing him of advocating for the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of eSwatini and China.

An independent investigation conducted by this Swaziland News uncovered highly classified intelligence information sourced from the Taiwan Embassy Eswatini and suggesting that, the Ambassador ‘red flagged’ other politicians that include Lobamba Lomdzala Member of Parliament(MP) Marwick Khumalo, former MP Victor Malambe, former MP Robert Magongo, Prince Thumbumuzi and the late ex-Senate Deputy President Ngomyayona Gamedze.

It has been disclosed that, some of the above mentioned eSwatini politicians were monitored by the Embassy’s Intelligence Department for allegedly supporting or visiting China, Taiwan frowns upon eSwatini politicians’ travels to China and the Island is holding on to the tiny Kingdom situated in Southern African as the last African diplomatic ally.

But the information collected by the Department of Intelligence within the Taiwan Embassy further recommended a lobbying within royalty for the removal of Prince Magudvulela next to the King and subsequently, as the Chief of Ntfonjeni, his proximity to the Monarch might, according to the information, result to the King receiving advise to consider establishing diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China.

It has been disclosed through the secret intelligence information that, the Taiwan Embassy was to engage King’s Praise Singer Qethuka Sigombeni Dlamini and Prince Kekela to convince the King that, Prince Magudvulela “is a threat to the Monarchy and, must be removed”.

Reached for comments by this publication, Taiwan Ambassador Jeremy Liang said, “he can’t discuss such issues, he referred comments to the eSwatini Government.

Responding to this publication, Prince Chief Magudvulela said, King Sobhuza banned political parties because he was avoiding such situations where emaSwati will be divided, with the other party plotting against the other.

“Upon arrival in China, I was impressed with their environmental friendly coal power electricity generation technology. So when I came back I was advocating for such electricity generation projects to assist the country and help emaSwati with access to affordable electricity. But a faction within royalty used the China trip against me saying I went to China to plot a political unrest, this is what King Sobhuza was avoiding by banning political parties. But it seems, we have a group of people operating like political parties in this country, plotting against others. While in China we never plotted against the country but, we were there to explore development opportunities not diplomacy because decisions involving diplomacy are communicated by the King,” said the Chief of Ntfonjeni.

Eswatini is the last African country maintaining diplomatic relations with the Chinese Province-Taiwan, in complete disregard of the United Nations(UN) Resolution 2758 of 1971 that recognized the “One China Principle”.

But the secret Taiwan intelligence information further suggests that “towards the recent elections, the Taiwan Embassy was plotting to fund anyone who might oppose Lobamba Lomdzala MP Marwick Khumalo but, the MP won the elections in a highly contested race”.

In the broader politically context, the information suggests that during the recent elections, Taiwan was plotting to support some of those competing with the Lobamba Lomdzala and the MPs who travelled to China but, there’s no collaborative information or intellegence report at this juncture, substentiating how this was implemented.

But it has been disclosed through the secret intelligence information that, “Taiwan appears to be deeply involved in influencing decisions in the eSwatini” either directly or through the manipulation of the political and traditional structures against those perceived as a threat against the Island’s diplomatic interests.

It has been reported that, Taiwan has already prepared rice worth over R10million to be used in campaigning for aspiring MPs within the various Tinkhundla Centres who will then, as a token of appreciation, support and protect the diplomatic relations between eSwatini and Taiwan.
