MBABANE:Neal Rijikernberg, the Minister of Finance says the partially implemented salary review report for civil servants will increase the Wage Bill but, Government supported it because civil servants were struggling with low salaries for a longtime.
Speaking on his “Finance-in-Focus” online program, the Finance Minister said, the salary review report has been partially implemented and then next year, Government will start implementing other recommendations of the report to improve the welfare of civil servants.
Rijikernberg said when he took over the Finance Minister, he realized that there was a great need for a salary review adding that, he will work towards ensuring that, the report is implemented fully. He said even next year, more money will be allocated to implement the report adding that, Government will rather reduce spending in other projects to ensure that, civil servants receive their money.
