Business Eswatini Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Nathie Dlamini welcomes highly anticipated new skills report, says it seeks to empower private sector.

MBABANE:Business Eswatini Chief Executive Officer(CEO) has, on half of organization for corporate entities, welcomed the highly anticipated new skills report saying it will empower the private sector.

In a statement sent to this Swaziland News on Tuesday, Business Eswatini said companies have been forced to become de facto training centres, investing heavily in in-house programs to upskill new recruits a significant financial burden undertaken simply to align talent with operational demands. 

“This stopgap solution, while necessary, has highlighted a critical systemic gap between the world of education and the world of work.It is against this backdrop that Business Eswatini(BE) welcomes the groundbreaking National Skills Anticipation Report for 2025-2034, developed by the Eswatini Higher Education Council (ESHEC). This forward-looking report is not just a document; it is a vital strategic tool that equips the private sector with the data and direction needed to secure Eswatini’s economic future. The ESHEC report arrives at a critical juncture; with youth unemployment at 48.7% and one of the highest skills mismatch indices globally, the urgency for alignment has never been greater,” reads the statement in part.

Business Eswatini said, this report “moves beyond identifying today’s problems to forecasting tomorrow's needs, providing a clear, data-driven roadmap for the next decade”.
