MBABANE:Thabile Mdluli,the Acting Government Spokesperson’s appointment ends this month otherwise, the Civil Service Commission(CSC) might be forced to confirm as the permanent Government Spokesperson in terms of Government rules.
Mdluli took over as the Acting Government Spokesperson in May 2025 after the expiry of Alpheous Nxumalo’s contract and Government rules suggest that, a civil servant who acted in a position for more than six(6) months must then be confirmed or permanently appointed.
Efforts to reach CSC Chairman Simanga Mamba proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
On another note, Government is highly expected to employ a new Spokesperson after Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini rejected alleged rapist Alpheous Nxumalo.
