MBABANE:Premier Milling Eswatini workers are accusing their Management of defrauding them after discovering documents suggesting that, “they are supposed to earn over seven thousand Rands(R7,000.00) not the current four thousand Rands(R4,000.00) monthly salaries”.

The documents including payslips seen by this Swaziland News suggest that, the workers were paid thirty-five Rands(R35.00) per-hour or over R7,000.00 per month once but, the salaries were subsequently reduced to twenty-two Rands(R22.00) per-hour and this amounts to about four thousand-five hundred Rands(R4,500.00).

It has been disclosed that, when reducing the salaries, the Management claimed it was a mistake to pay them the over R7,000.00 monthly salaries.

Reached for comments by this publication, a Premier Milling Manager said he was not at work and urged this journalist to contact the Office.

But Zweli Sihlongonyane, the Secretary General of the Swaziland Manufacturing and Allied Workers Union(SMAWU) confirmed knowledge of the matter, Sihlongonyane first asked for some few minutes to verify with some workers within milling company.

“I have verified, it’s Premier Milling and the workers were supposed to have their salaries increased under a new salary review. We are working on this matter and if need be, we will approach the Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration Commission(CMAC)”, he said.
