MBABANE:Vusi Manoma Masango, the National Commissioner of Police has been caught by this Swaziland News fraudulently changing his official Government allocated car number plate to private.
The illegal act known as “kugaca” is common with security officers or royal agents who drive across the country conducting ritual killings for Incwala Ceremony but, the eSwatini National Commissioner of Police was caught fraudulently changing the number plate on Saturday when traveling to meet one of his girlfriends thus violating the country’s traffic laws.
The official number plate was found hidden in the car boot after the National Commissioner placed USD 779 DH as his disguised private number plate.
Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson, declined to comment,
But lawyer Sibusiso Nhlabatsi described the conduct of the National Police Commissioner as illegal and/or a violation of traffic laws.
“The National Police Commissioner is violating traffic laws, he must use his own car for personal trips not to remove a Government number plate from a car allocated for his public duties,” said the lawyer.
