MBABANE:Eswatini Finance Minister Neal Rijikernberg has confirmed that, the tiny Kingdom received about R100million($5.1million) from the United States(US) after signing the ‘deportation of dangerous criminals’ agreement.
Responding to Members of Parliament(MPs) inside Parliament this week, the Finance Minister said the money reflected in the Government’s bank account and when they enquired from the US, they were told that “it’s for the deportees”.
On another note, some of the deportees have been described by the United States as dangerous criminals previously convicted of child rape and murder.
Eswatini is ruled by King Mswati as an absolute Monarch, the agreement that resulted to the country accepting the deportees was signed by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini without consulting Parliament.
