MBABANE:The Eswatini Higher Education Council(ESHEC) has launched a campaign seeking to educate High School students to identify and refrain from furthering their studies with unregistered or unaccredited Colleges.

ESHEC Acting Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Dr Ncamsile Motsa described the trend as deeply worrying, she called for urgent collaboration between Government, schools, parents, and young people to curb the problem.

“We have seen far too many students invest years of study and their families’ hard-earned savings, only to learn the qualification is not recognised. Many only discover the truth when they apply for jobs, postgraduate studies, or professional registration. The emotional and financial toll is immense. We cannot allow this to continue,” said the Acting ESHEC CEO.

But the campaign comes at a time when the country is facing an escalating number of unregistered Colleges, collecting money from unsuspecting members of the public.

“Some colleges are registered, but not every programme they offer has been approved. Students must verify both the institution and the course. One without the other is not enough,” the Acting ESHEC CEO added.
