MAHLANGATSHA:The widow of the late soldier Sanele Dlamini of Mahlangatja is demanding twelve thousand Rands(R12,000.00) from Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze.
It has been disclosed that, the widow told soldiers who arrived at the late soldier’s home to mourn(kulila) the death of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defense Force(UEDF) member, to pass the message to the Army Commander who stands accused of looting soldiers’ monies.
But the money was supposed to be paid from the Army Burial Fund allegedly looted and subsequently closed by the Army Commander, soldier Sanele Dlamini, a brother to retired General Musa Dlamini died before receiving his refund and was buried last week.
Reached for comments by this Swaziland News, Army Spokesperson Lieutenant Tengetile Khumalo said the matter has not reached her Office.
“The Office of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF) Public Affairs has no record of the unfortunate alleged grievance and has not neither been made aware of by the germane Army Barrack. It would therefore be very futile to say something in response from an unilluminating position.May l kindly touch base and ascertain in this regard,” said the Army Spokesperson.
On another note, the Army Commander was previously exposed by this publication for allegedly looting about R20million monies belonging to soldiers and subsequently closed the Burial Fund that was assisting soldiers with “imali yekulila” amounting to twelve thousand Rands(R12,000.00) when visiting families to mourn the death of another soldier.
But apart from that, the Commander Fakudze has been receiving five thousand Rands(R5,000.00) per-week as “litiya la-Commander” from Hlalawati, a Saving and Cooperative Fund belonging to soldiers, the looted monies since Fakudze took over as the Army Commander, amount to about R1million.
