MBABANE:Penuel Malinga, the Secretary General of eSwatini’s main and largest political party-the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) has announced the lifting of a suspension of the political organization’s Deputy Secretary General(DSG) Maxwell Dlamini.
The PUDEMO DSG was suspended for declaring support for the undemocratic Tinkhundla elections and expressed his desire to participate but PUDEMO has a resolution to boycott Tinkhundla elections that restrict the participation of political parties.
In a statement sent to this Swaziland News on Tuesday, the PUDEMO Secretary General announced the conclusion of internal disciplinary process and a resolution adopted by the NEC to lift the suspension.
”In accordance with the resolutions of the National Executive Committee (NEC), the suspension has been lifted, and Comrade Maxwell has resumed his duties with immediate effect. As a matter of principle and organisational integrity, the details of internal processes remain confidential. PUDEMO commends Comrade Maxwell for the discipline, patience, and unwavering commitment he demonstrated throughout this period. His conduct reflects the values of unity, maturity, and collective responsibility that continue to guide our movement. As he returns to active leadership, we express full confidence in his role and look forward to his continued contribution in strengthening the organisation and advancing the broader struggle for democracy, justice, and freedom in our country,” reads the statement in part.
On another note, Malinga said PUDEMO “remains steadfast in its mission and in the consolidation of over four decades of dedicated struggle”.
