MBABANE: King Mswati secured high quality COVID-19 vaccines exclusively for his children, wives and close relatives, insiders close to the matter told this publication.
Inkhosikati LaNgangaza, one of King’s favorite wives demonstrated that COVID-19 was no longer a threat to King Mswati and his royal family after she hugged both her ‘son in-law’ Lwazi Maziya and her daughter Princess Temaswati during their engagement in a private ceremony last week.
Furthermore, this Swaziland News is in possession of pictures and videos sourced from the royal family substantiating that its members have resumed to live their normal lives, hosting birthday events where COVID-19 regulations were disregarded with impunity.
Reached for comments by this publication, Mbongseni Shabangu, the Secretary General of the Swaziland Democratic Party(SWADEPA) expressed serious concerns that members of the royal family have started to live their normal lives at the time when the Nation was eagerly waiting for quality vaccines.
“We expect them to lead by example and demonstrate that COVID-19 remains a threat by adopting safety measures. But that is not happening, instead their conduct suggests they long vaccinated themselves with quality vaccines and COVID-19 is no longer a threat to them” ,said the SWADEPA Secretary General.
An independent investigation by this Swaziland News uncovered videos proving that when the COVID-19 pandemic erupted the King isolated his children at Royal Villas for safety, they were subsequently vaccinated by highly qualified doctors to resume their normal lives hosting parties and consuming alcohol even during the recent partial lockdown where consumption of alcohol was banned.
A questionnaire was sent to Government Spokesperson Sabelo Dlamini where he was asked to respond on behalf of the royal family, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
But Bheki Mamba, the President of the Swaziland Democratic Nurses Union(SWADNU) said the picture indicates that these members of the royal family breached stipulated COVID-19 regulations promulgated by the State.
“This picture indicates that these people have breached the stipulated COVID 19 regulations promulgated by the State. They have no face musks, hugging is prohibited according to the regulations, they have not kept a safe distance from each other. We expect the government in terms of its law enforcement agencies to take this issue up and enforce discipline and compliance. It is very worrying when senior people in the state machinery continously show to have no regard for the respect of the law”, said the Nurses union President.
