MBABANE:Percy Simelane, the Spokesperson of the Eswatini Monarchy has clarified that, “Queen Ntombi Tfwala has no links whatsoever, with South African controversial businessman Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala and that, she never invited him to attend the King’s Birthday Celebration”.
Responding to this Swaziland News when asked to clarify Matlala’s submission before the South African Parliament Ad hoc Committee, the Spokesperson said his Office does not have any record of the invitation as alleged by Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala but he mentioned that, there are possibilities that, Matlala was invited by others close to the King of the Queen Mother and/or without the knowledge of the country’s authorities.
“We have no record of Mr Matlala’s invitation by the queen. We therefore are unable to confirm if indeed he was invited to the King’s Birthday in question. Normally an invitation is between the host and the person whose presence is desired, unless the guest falls under the VIP or VVIP category. We wish to clarify that not all the invitation cards are disbursed from Lozitha Palace or Ludzidzini where the Indlovukazi resides. Ministers, for instance get bundles to distribute to their relatives and friends, apart from these cards there are those which are somehow leaked into undeserving hands,” said the Monarchy’s Spokesperson.
