MBABANE:Neal Rijikernberg, the Minister of Finance has applauded the Eswatini Revenue Service(ERS) for expanding the Authorized Economic Operator(AEO) Programme by including and accrediting more qualifying companies.
Speaking during the AEO Accreditation Ceremony held at the ERS Head Office this week, the Finance Minister further thanked the newly included companies for demonstrating commitment to voluntary tax compliance.
“You will benefit from expedited clearance at our borders, including access to express counters or lanes, which reduces delays and improves the predictability of your supply chains. You will receive priority treatment when inspections are required, with more flexible inspection arrangements that respect both your business needs and our control obligations.
You will have a dedicated Relationship Manager within ERS, ensuring that your issues are resolved quickly and that you have a direct line of engagement on customs matters,” said the Finance Minister.
On another note, the Finance Minister said the AEO Accreditation will enhance the companies’ credibility in the global market.
“These are complemented by broader advantages in the marketplace. AEO accreditation is increasingly recognised as a mark of quality and reliability. It signals to your international partners that your systems are sound, your controls are strong, and your goods can be trusted. In a competitive region, that reputation matters”, he said.
