EZULWINI:Nathie Dlamini, the Business Eswatini Chief Executive Officer(CEO) says the Authorized Economic Operator(AEO) is not only an investment seeking to enhance national competitiveness but, a complementary programme to the organization’s efforts to improve the ease of doing business in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

The Business Eswatini CEO was speaking at the Eswatini Revenue Service(ERS) Head Office during the AEO Accreditation of new qualifying companies.

“As Business Eswatini, we see the AEO programme investment in national competitiveness. It complements our advocacy efforts in other critical areas such as the operationalisation of the One-Stop Border Post at Oshoek–Ngwenya, data harmonisation, digital customs reforms, and more efficient cross-border VAT processes. Together, these initiatives speak to one objective: reducing the cost of doing business in Eswatini. To the newly accredited companies: today you nailed your colours to the mast showing that you are now indispensable partners in shaping a more efficient, reliable trading system for the entire business community. Your leadership sets a benchmark for others, and your experience will guide future improvements in the programme.

To the ERS and all agencies represented in the NTFC, we commend your commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement”, he said.

Dlamini further described the AEO programme as a “model of what is possible when Government and the private sector” work together with clarity, transparency and ambition.

“Business Eswatini remains committed to supporting this work. We stand ready to mobilise industry, provide feedback, contribute to policy refinement, and ensure that the benefits of the programme are felt across all sectors of the economy. As we move toward a broader, regionalised AEO framework, I am confident that Eswatini will continue to lead by example, and that our private sector will seize the opportunities that come with a more predictable and facilitative trading environment”, said the Business Eswatini CEO.
