EZULWINI:Eswatini Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini says, the Kingdom remains committed to decisive environmental action and climate resilience, Government online platforms reported on Saturday morning.
It has been reported that, the Prime Minister was speaking during the 2025 Temvelo Awards ceremony held at the Royal Swazi Spa on Friday evening, he said in it’s environmental and climate response, “Eswatini is guided by international frameworks such as the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, the Convention on Biological Diversity and the UN Convention to Combat Desertification”, as well as enhanced domestic legislation and regulatory reforms, including the new Ozone Depleting Substances and Hydrofluorocarbons Regulations of 2025.
“As a Nation, we are taking deliberate and strategic steps to strengthen our resilience to climate change. We are enhancing meteorological observation capacity, investing in early detection systems that support social protection, and aligning our environmental laws with both our national priorities and international obligations.Our national pledge to reduce 2.24 million tonnes of greenhouse gases by 2035, together with our position among the first ten countries globally to submit NDC 3.0, is a clear indication that Eswatini is prepared to move beyond commitments on paper to bold, transformative climate action implemented with urgency, integrity, and accountability,”he said.
