EZULWINI:King Mswati has called for responsible use of Artificial Intelligence, he urged Southern African Development Community(SADC) Member States to embrace innovation while safeguarding transparency, trust, and electoral integrity, Government online platforms reported on Tuesday.

It has been reported that, the King was speaking through his representative Prince Lonkhokhela during the official opening of the 27th Annual General Conference of the Electoral Commissions Forum of SADC Countries in Ezulwini, the “Conference is been held under the theme; “Artificial Intelligence and Elections-Threats and Opportunities”.

The King further noted that while AI can improve efficiency, transparency, and voter participation, it also carries risks such as misinformation and manipulation if not responsibly governed.

“Artificial Intelligence(AI) is reshaping every aspect of human endeavour, from communication and commerce to agriculture and governance. On one hand, AI offers opportunities to enhance efficiency, transparency, and voter engagement through improved data management, communication, and security mechanisms. On the other hand, it presents challenges such as misinformation, data manipulation, and threats to electoral integrity if misused,”said the King.
