It was indeed a joyful day for the Mbondzela residents whose homes were demolished as Natural Resources Minister Prince Lonkhokhela handed over new houses.

As the editor of this independent online publication that reported widely about the plight of the residents, let me thank the Minister for keeping his earlier promise, the influential Prince proved that he can be trusted with future national responsibilities even though he is not entirely perfect.

When reporting about the plight of emaSwati as independent journalists, it’s always a pleasure to then report about life changing good news, the Mbondzela residents are now sleeping under decent shelters.

What the Natural Resources Minister did in ensuring that, he “keeps his earlier promise” suggests that he can be trusted with other national responsibilities.

We must guard against pushing poor emaSwati deeper into poverty, what happened to the Mbondzela residents was an act of injustice and we thank the Natural Resources Minister and all those who restored the dignity of these residents.

I hardly write articles praising politicians but let say “thank you Minister Prince Lonkhokhela”, you promised to resolve the Mbondzela issue and you did just that.
