MBABANE: Judge Abande Dlamini came hard on Henry Sibandze, the Attorney General’s Office lawyer representing the State in the Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo’s urgent unpaid salaries case.

Nxumalo took Government to court demanding unpaid salaries as per the contract of employment he signed with the Civil Service Commission (CSC), the Government through the Office of the Attorney General asked to settle the matter out of court when the matter first appeared before Judge Abande Dlamini about two weeks ago.

But when the matter returned to court on Friday this week, the lawyer representing the Eswatini Government told the Judge that, Government was engaging Nxumalo for a settlement however, a few internal processes needed to be completed before the agreement could be signed.

But this not go down well with Judge Abande Dlamini after Khumbulani Msibi, the lawyer representing Alpheous Nxumalo told the court that, his client was processed payment before Christmas.

But the lawyer representing Government maintained that Nxumalo won’t receive any payment before Christmas adding that, Government was ready for anything should Nxumalo “decides to take the matter further”.

Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo’s contract with the Civil Service Commission was rejected by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, the PM questioned why Nxumalo was re-employed while facing child rape criminal charges.
