MBABANE:The R3.4billion financial support agreement signed by Eswatini and the United States will enable the US to gain access to emaSwati’s health information through the Ministry of Health data collection system.
The agreement was signed by Economic Planning and Development Minister Dr. Thambo Gina and US Embassy Eswatini Chargé d’Affaires Marc Weinstock last week and will result to the United States pumping-in R3.4billon in support of health programs for the next five (5) years.
In return, the Eswatini Government will allow the United States to gain access to health records for emaSwati within the various public hospitals.
Eswatini has about 70% of the population living below the poverty, the country is relying on foreign donations to fund social programs including the health sector.
