MBABANE:Prince Guduza, the Chairman of the Eswatini Mines and Minerals Board stands accused of facilitating the smuggling of a Green Chert mineral worth over R4billion to the Mainland China and as previously reported by this publication, is wanted by the Chinese law enforcement agencies.
An independent investigation conducted by this Swaziland News uncovered information from China suggesting that, after the arrest of Michael Lee Enterprises Director Steven Huiqiang Hu, he was questioned and in the process disclosed that, Prince Guduza and Prince Lindani played a key role in facilitating the smuggling of the mineral from the Kingdom of Eswatini to China, Steven Huiqiang Hu is awaiting sentencing in China.
It has been disclosed that, more documents facilitating the smuggling of the mineral allegedly linked Prince Guduza in his capacity as the Chairman of the Mines and Minerals Board.
Prince Lindani who allegedly received Bentley cars and a Patek Philippe watch worth over R5million from the Chinese investors, was only implicated as an “emissary (Lincusa) to the King” hence Guduza remains the most wanted in China and might face the death penalty.
The arrested Chinese investor obtained the mining license after ‘fronting’ with Michael Lee from Taiwan and, after being tricked with false information into believing that, King Mswati does not work with investors from the Mainland China, he subsequently smuggled the Green Chert mineral and landed in trouble.
Michael Lee, the Director of Michael Lee Enterprises released a statement vigorously denying these mineral smuggling allegations.
But documents sourced from China suggest that on or around 21st May 2025, Steven Huiqiang Hu was first detained by the Mawei Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau of the People’s Republic of China in the city of Fuzhou-China’s Fujian Province.
But an investigation conducted by this publication further uncovered pictures and travel information within the Chinese Immigration Department suggesting that, before the smuggling of the mineral, Steven Huiqiang Hu travelled with Prince Guduza to celebrate the awarding of a mining license in China.
Prince Guduza, the Chairman of the Mines and Minerals Board who is wanted in China for smuggling the mineral, declined to comment when this Swaziland News reached him for a comment but opted to insult this journalist for investigating the smuggling of the mineral.
On another note, this publication previously reported that, Prince Guduza allegedly colluded with Prince Lindani and the Chinese investors when smuggling the Green Chert mineral, Prince Lindani was allegedly bribed with a Bentley car with over R5million and cash amounting to millions, Lindani now owns three Bentley cars worth over R15million.
Michael Lee, the Director of Michael Enterprise Director released a press statement, denying the smuggling of the Green Chert mineral allegations but, this publication is in possession of pictures of the detained mineral and Chinese documents confirming investor Steven Huiqiang Hu’s arrest.
