MBABANE:Marwick Khumalo, the Lobamba Lomdzala Member of Parliament (MP) has questioned Tourism and Environmental Affairs Minister Jane Mkhonta-Simelane amid reports suggesting that, the Gaming Body is issuing licenses while Parliament debates regulations.
The MP spoke strongly about negative effects of gambling in the country and questioned Government’s involvement in regulating the industry.
“Why is Government involved in regulating gambling?. There must be an independent body to regulate gambling,” said the MP.
On another note, Hhukwini Member of Parliament Alec Lushaba supported the Lobamba Lomdzala sentiments, saying the proposed regulations will ensure the implementation of the Gambling Act.
