MBABANE:Government Spokesperson and child rape accused Alpheous Nxumalo returned to work this week after State lawyers told Industrial Court Judge Abande Dlamini that “it’s no work no pay”.
Nxumalo took Government to court, he is demanding unpaid salaries and the labour dispute erupted after Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini rejected him saying “he can’t be a Spokesperson while facing rape criminal charges.
But the Government Spokesperson when clarifying the “no work no pay policy”, told the court that, he never refused to work but instead, was placed on special leave after the renewal of his contract.
Lawyer Khumbulani Msibi previously told the court that, his client Alpheous Nxumalo was promised the unpaid salaries before Christmas but Government subsequently refused to pay citing the “no work no pay policy”.
Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini is reportedly refusing to entertain Nxumalo who made himself to resume his duties as a Government Spokesperson.
