MBABANE:Wandile Dludlu, the Deputy President of the People’s United Democratic Movement (PUDEMO) says, “no Liswati should be subjected to what former President of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Swaziland Ncamiso Ngcamphalala allegedly went through merely for expressing a political view against the Tinkhundla system and the King.

Ngcamphalala who allegedly insulted King Mswati calling him “Macwatsa” and went on to call for his removal from power, was allegedly assaulted by a group of police officers led by the late Deputy Commissioner Sam Mthembu until he relieved himself, he was then forced to consume his own faeces as part of the torture.

But the torture was exclusively reported by this Swaziland News after obtaining information from the State Intelligence Unit, Ngcamphalala subsequently pledged to be loyal to the King after being made to consume his own waste.

Responding to this publication on Sunday, the PUDEMO Deputy President said even though he was not present when Ngcamphalala was tortured, it’s advisable for him to seek professional counseling if such torture happened as reported.

“Any person who goes through such torture cannot be a normal person, he or she normally develops post traumatic disorder. So Ngcamphalala must seek professional counseling if he went through this alleged torture,” said the PUDEMO Deputy President.

On another note, Dludlu said the harassment and torture of emaSwati merely for expressing political views demonstrates the urgent need for a democratic order.

“In a democratic society, citizens express political views and still be safe,” he said.
