MBABANE: Mbongwa Dlamini, the President of the Swaziland National Association of Teachers(SNAT) said as the Executive they have called an urgent meeting with administrators of their Cooperative as allegations of corruption and or misappropriation of funds intensify.
This comes after a concerned member of the SNAT Cooperative allegedly raised a complaint with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority(FSRA) regarding the alleged misappropriation of funds within the organization.
Speaking to this Swaziland News current affairs program on the audio channel when interviewed by editor Zweli Martin Dlamini, the SNAT President promised to give a feedback regarding this issue after the meeting with the Management of the Cooperative.
“It’s true, we have been made aware that there are issues of alleged misappropriation of funds in the SNAT Cooperative, as an Executive, we are making arrangements to meet their Management so we can fully understand what is really happening. The SNAT Cooperative is a subsidiary of SNAT with its own Management, once we engage them, we will then communicate a feedback on this issue” , said the SNAT President.
Speaking to this publication, the member of the SNAT Cooperative said as members they were concerned because the Cooperative was not performing to their expectation in terms of returns yet some Board members including Management seems to be benefiting through lucrative allowances and organise international trips just to benefit from travelling allowances of up to E45,000.00 per person.
