MBABANE:Savannah Maziya, the Minister of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) says, the commercialization of social media content will foster entrepreneurship and stimulate economic growth.
The ICT Minister shared these sentiments in her New Year Statement, she said Government “encourages innovation” among the youth.
“We are focusing on commercializing social media, which will not only foster entrepreneurship but also stimulate economic growth across various sectors. By integrating top applications and fostering start-ups, the government aims to encourage innovation among the youth, further contributing to a robust digital economy,” she said.
The Information Minister’s statement comes as good news, bringing hope to thousands of emaSwati and content creators with huge following on social media but, couldn’t get paid due to the non availability of policies Eswatini regulating the commercialization of social media content.
