MBABANE:The LaMgabhi Etiyeni Inner Council (Bandlancane) who was led by the late Acting Indvuna Alfred Maseko and made newspaper headlines after clashing with Zweli Martin Dlamini for allegedly selling the editor’s grandfather Prince Mgungu’s land, has been removed by the new Chief Mvemve Hlophe.
The editor evicted all those who illegally secured land under Acting Indvuna Maseko’s Council within his grandfather Prince Mgungu’s land, despite consistent warning not to do so.
But Dlamini assured all those previously allocated land by his late grandfather who was working with the late Chief Mabhedla Hlophe that, they won’t be evicted because they were allocated by the legitimate traditional authorities.
“All those who were allocated land by my grandfather and the late Chief Mabhedla Hlophe won’t be evicted, angifuni naba lababekwa bo-Maseko endzaweni yakitsi. My grandfather never sold any piece of land because he knew he had children and grandchildren, we wouldn’t be having homes if he was greedy and decided to sell land. He gave some of us a piece and urged us to protect the remaining land for his great grandchildren. Bese kuba netinhlakaniphi letifuna kutsengisa tindzawo tebantfu ticabange kutsi sitatiyekela,” said the editor.
Dlamini thanked the new Chief, Indvuna and the new Inner Council for promoting peace by stopping the sale of his grandfather’s land, he urged those who paid for the land to demand a refund from members of the previous illegal Alfred Maseko’s Inner Council.
On another note, police arrived last week at LaMgabhi Etiyeni to grab one member of the previous Bandlancane who was allegedly involved in the selling of the land, it could not be ascertained what issues he had with the police.
The Inner Council led by Maseko allegedly took advantage that “at the time, there was no Chief at LaMgabhi Etiyeni and sold land”, orphans and widows had their land grabbed in the process.

Prince Mgungu.
