MBABANE:Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze is now grounded after the recent recruitment, he told journalists during a press briefing that, the training will commence in January 2026 creating false hope for emaSwati who participated in the recruitment.
But this Swaziland News after receiving information from Army sources late last year, published a story informing the Nation that, the Army Commander was not telling the truth as the training will not commence before approval by the Ministry of Public Service.
Indeed, it has been disclosed that, the “recruitment is yet to reach the medical tests stage”, and that the training might commence a few weeks before or after the passing of the National budget by Parliament.
“We are now done with the physical recruitment, the next stage is the medical assessment and the training will start in January 2026,” said the Army Commander when uttering a lie to journalists, the lie has been confirmed as per a report published by this publication stating that, the training will not commence without a budget.
The budget expected to be approved by the Ministry of Public Service in consultation with the Ministry of Finance, includes food for the army recruits and their allowances or entry salaries.
Army Spokesperson Major Sandile Gwebu had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
On another note, National Commander of Police Vusi Manoma Masango recently communicated accurate information, he told the media that, police recruitment will commence once the law enforcement agency “receives approval or go ahead from the Ministry of Public Service”.
The National Commissioner was correcting information communicated by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini who doubles as the Minister of Police, the PM told Parliament that, police recruitment will commence before the end of last year.
It is alleged that, Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze was pressured by aspiring soldiers who paid cows and monies as bribes to join the Army, he reportedly owns over two hundred (200) cattle.
The Army Commander approached the King for approval known as “kubusiselwa recruitment” without engaging the relevant Ministry responsible for employment of Government employees.
