MBABANE: Eswatini participated in the Giftionery Trade Show in the Republic of China on Taiwan, Taipei that was held from the 22- 25th April to showcase products made in the country.
These products include fashion wear and accessories, aloe products, handicrafts, tableware and home decor, leather products, embroidered goods and recycled products.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Wednesday, Mluleki Dlamini, the Director of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs )in the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade said these products were sourced from local Small and Medium Enterprises (SME's. )
"These products came from Ngwenya glass, Swazi Candles and Gone Rural.This time the exhibitors did not travel to Taiwan but they shipped their products to the event and followed the proceedings virtually. A virtual Trade Show will be the most viable thing going forward since it helps in reducing travel costs for our exhibitors" , he said.
Eswatini's participation in this trade show forms part of the Kingdom's efforts to deepen Trade relations with Taiwan under the Economic Cooperation Agreement signed in 2018 while also encouraging trade between local companies and highly profitable markets in Asia.
