The 12th Parliament of His Majesty’s Legislature is now twenty-eight (28) months in Office, literally there are two (2) months away from being 50% of their term.
This is more than enough time for anyone whether totally new as a Member of Parliament (MP) or old like Marwick Khumalo who has been in those Chambers since 1998.
The last elections took place on the 29th of September 2023 after a huge campaign by the King and Ingwenyama commanding his subjects to prove their loyalty through that call as if elections are in the same breadth as Incwala or Umhlanga a deliberate political manipulation of the open cheque emaSwati have tacitly given to the Monarchy for the last three hundred (300) years now.
The Prince Mhlabuhlangene led Electoral Boundaries commission(EBC) mandated by Section 90 to 92 of the 2005 constitution read together with Section 79 of the same.
This was firmly anchored on the rhetorical sloganerring praxis of (Ngete Ngasala Nasakha Live Letfu), this slogan itself carries alot of lies and political arm twisting of emaSwati as ordinarily we are reminded everyday that this country belongs to the King.
But when they want you to participate in a smokescreen process to dupe international community, you are told it’s your country and power to build it is in your hands when reality bounce back (Live Lenkhosi leli) anyway its common course that EBC ran elections that only permit emaSwati on strictly their individual merit basis to vote into Office, not only Members of Parliament, but (Indvuna yeNkhundla and Bucopho) across the country’s political constituencies known as Tinkhundla.
The billion dollar question is, what has your MP done for you since he or she assumed office?”
Real meaningful material leap forward, not something an MP can take away as soon as his electoral fortunes dwindles like one MP once took away his koobie as soon as he lost elections.
This question should be answered on the background of both their promises they made, for instance Mbabane east MP Mr Welcome Dlamini promised youth jobs, sporting grounds and entertainment facilities, promised to reduce drastically poverty in Msunduza, Fountain and surrounding areas, he literally bought if not sponsored a very expensive space in a prime spot in the form of a roadside billboard located in an intersection of major exits and entrance points into the city, where no less than ten thousand per day citizens pass through to see and read.
We furthermore must evaluate all these members of parliament against national priorities beyond their colorful electoral campaign promises.
What has your MP done to create jobs, real life changing programs for the voters not gimmicks like the ‘fohlo fohlo’ investors, not those Taiwan rice donations to keep them busy with nothingness activities, in particular to the youth majority who not only voted but actually campaigned for the MP.
What has your MP done for your constituency to reduce unemployment not donations of pig heads nor soccer useless bonanza, but programs to confront hunger.
What has your MP done for the elderly who not only get abused by the Deputy Prime Minister’s office through unilateral stoppages of their peanuts stipends but also the elderly who have no Government support over their general poverty status particularly when it comes to their only livehood of cattle now ravaged by foot and mouth disease, wiping their last line of economic hope, remember this is preceded by drought scage less than a decade ago, again His Majesty’ s Government did nothing beyond endless long winding speeches and interviews.
What has your MP done for you to have schools in your community, college and Universities in the country properly funded and top ups not only paid but timeously so, to ensure schools run smoothly and efficiently, kids have food, books and motivated teachers not casual teachers last paid six or twelve months ago worse many primary and high schools without maths, science and computer teachers.
Emaswati must stop being cheap and narrow minded, clowns masquerading as members of parliament come make false promises every five years, then go and open police posts and buy batons and handcuffs for community police to arrest the same youth they promised job, opportunities and such like.
The voters are languishing in poverty, degrading and dehumanizing conditions under Lobamba Lomdzala constituency as someone has been lining his pocket for the last thirty years under the pretext of development of the people.
Unemployment, violent crimes, youth suicides, gender based violence and underdevelopment remains a central issue in the country, infact its getting worse than better, real concrete questions and actions needs to be taken against the people who have made our generational impoverishment of the nation their lucrative business.
These are folks who have deliberately aligned themselves with the biggest parasites in the palace who fleece the national fiscus, nothing less than four billion per annum, what a perverted form of love and loyalty must we continue to proffer to the feudal grotesque and rapacious caricature like this!!!
