Poison found in late Zulu Queen Mantfombi Dlamini's liver, tension escalates within royal family.

MBABANE: Poison was allegedly found in Zulu Queen Regent Mantfombi Dlamini-Zulu's liver, the Sunday Independent has reported quoting a statement by Prime Minister of the Zulu Nation Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.

Mantfombi Dlamini-Zulu, a member of Eswatini royalty and daughter to the late King Sobhuza, died on Thursday at Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg in the midst of tensions within the Zulu royal family triggered by disagreements over the multi-million estate of the late King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekizulu and the highly anticipated appointment of the next King.

Speaking to this Swaziland News on Friday, Lusendvo Fakudze, the Governor of Eswatini royal family said they were yet to report the passing away of the Queen to King Mswati as per Customary Law and Swazi culture.

"We have received these sad news but we are yet to formally report to the King as per dictates of our culture" said the Governor.

The Sunday Independent, quoting a statement sent by Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi further reported that the Queen was due to undergo  surgery but doctors advised otherwise after discovering poison in her liver.
