MBABANE: Gciniwe Fakudze, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Mbabane Municipality might have engaged in the ongoing shutdown of alleged illegal bars and bottle stores with a conflict of interest and, to cover-up a personal fight she had with her neighbor at Fontein.

It has been disclosed that, even before she became the Chief Executive Officer of the capital city, Fakudze was filing written objections, urging the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade not to renew businessman Six Oosthuizen’s liquor license, her reason was that, the bar was making noise and therefore, she can’t sleep at night.

Businessman Six Oosthuizen died a few days ago after the Mbabane CEO, shortly after being appointed to the position, allegedly saw an opportunity to fight her neighbor.

But before that, the Mbabane CEO strategically diluted the public opinion by telling the media that, she was closing illegal bars in Mbabane but information has emerged suggesting that, she was pushing a personal agenda against her neighbor in a fight dating back to over five (5) years.

Reached for comments earlier, Mbabane Mayor Thulani Mkhonto told this Swaziland News that, the CEO was within her powers to close illegal bars and bottle stores violating rules and regulations of the city.

But the Mayor was commenting regarding the general and administrative duties of the CEO not the alleged personal fight Fakudze allegedly had with the Fontein businessman who collapsed and died after the CEO closed his business.

Mkhonto said as Councillors, they will soon meet the CEO to discuss the closing of the bars and bottle stores amid public outcry.
