Pigg’s Peak Ratepayers at loggerheads with Urban Development Minister Apollo Maphalala for appointing ex-CEO Mzwandile Ndzinisa who resigned facing fraud and corruption allegations.

PIGG’S PEAK: Bastar Vilakati, the Secretary General of the Pigg’s Peak Ratepayers Association and Residents has, through the Town Council, written a letter of complaint to Housing and Urban Development Minister Apollo Maphalala following the appointment of ex-Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mzwandile Ndzinisa as a member of the Town Planning Board.

The Pigg’s Peak Ratepayers said the Minister should have waited until “Ndzinisa is cleared of the fraud and corruption allegations” and/or until he has paid back the monies he allegedly defrauded while working as the Chief Executive Officer of the Pigg’s Peak Municipality.

But the Minister when interviewed by the State owned Eswatini TV, defended his decision to appoint the former Pigg’s Peak CEO.

“The former CEO was accused of misappropriation of funds but there was nothing tangible except for petty fights between him and the Ratepayers Association. So a meeting was held and it was resolved that, the CEO must resign,” said the Minister when speaking to Eswatini TV.

On another note, the Minister appointed Principal Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development Dr Simon Zwane as the Chairperson of the Town Planning Board while Zwakele Dlamini, Dr Adman Shabangu and Vusie Mabuza have been appointed as members members of the Board.
