“Kwaze kwengca Army Day nje ngikhona ngitabe sengincobile ngeke isangisusa Inkhosi,” says Commander Mashikilisane Fakudze while preparing list of senior soldiers to be promoted by the King.

NOKWANE: Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze has prepared a list of senior soldiers loyal to him to be recommended to the King for promotions during the upcoming Army Day.

It has been disclosed that, the Army Commander wants to systematically position a senior soldier who will take over as the Head of Military should the King decides to remove and appoint him to emaBandla, Brigadier General Mthiza Dlamini who is in charge of the Intelligence Unit is among the senior Army officers positioned to take over.

“No one knows what will happen during the Army Day kodvwa kwaze kwengca Army Day nje ngikhona ngitabe sengincobile ngeke isangisusa Inkhosi”, said the Army Commander during one of the Executive Command meetings.

Major Sandile Gwebu, the Army Spokesperson, declined to comment when reached by this Swaziland News.

Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze stands accused of engaging in corruption with impunity and the corruption has divided the Army amid nepotism even the promotion of junior soldiers.

But apart from that, the Army Commander allegedly looted about R20million monies belonging to soldiers and subsequently closed a Burial Fund that was assisting soldiers with “imali yekulila” amounting to twelve thousand Rands(R12,000.00) when visiting families to mourn the death of another soldier. 

The Commander Fakudze has been receiving five thousand Rands(R5,000.00) per-week as “litiya la-Commander” from Hlalawati, a Saving and Cooperative Fund belonging to soldiers, the looted monies since Fakudze took over as the Army Commander, amount to about R1million.
