LUVE: Slindile Dlamini was allegedly shoot and killed by King Mswati’s mother Queen Ntombi Tfwala’s military bodyguard on Tuesday evening amid human rights violations in the tiny Kingdom.
An independent investigation conducted by this Swaziland News uncovered that, Slindile Dlamini was pregnant and the incident occurred around LaMashwayi along the Mafutseni-Luve Road, a police report seen by this publication “confirms the shooting” but with hidden information regarding alleged involvement of the Queen Mother’s military bodyguards.
“On the 10/03/2026 at 2340hrs, one Slindile Dlamini 28 of Bhekinkhosi area was fatally shot once on the head while being a passenger in a white Honda Fit registered CSD 406 CM next to Mgunyane Shopping Complex”, reads the police report in part.
It has been disclosed that, the soldier who allegedly shot and killed Slindile Dlamini was with police officers controlling traffic and ensuring the security on the road where Queen Ntombi Tfwala was to pass through.
In the Kingdom of Eswatini ruled by King Mswati as an absolute Monarch, emaSwati found walking along on the road are normally tortured by security officers and told to remove their hats or sit down a few metres from the road whenever King Mswati and the Queen Mother are driven to various places in the country.
Eswatini Police Spokesperson Phindile Vilakati declined to comment about the fatal shooting that shocked the entire country, the information regarding the fatal shooting was spreading like wild fire on Wednesday afternoon across digital media platforms.
But in the midst of this investigation seeking to verify what really happened, Muziwanele Masilela who was driving the vehicle confirmed the shooting, he said Slindile Dlamini who was a passenger, was shot and killed by a soldier.
“She was shot and killed by a soldier and after killing Slindile, the soldier forced me and the other passengers who survived the shooting to lie down. I then heard the sound of many cars passing-by,” said the driver of the vehicle, an eye witness.
On another note, sources within the Army told this Swaziland News that, they were aware that Slindile Dlamini was allegedly shot by a soldier, the sources expressed serious concern regarding the “conduct of some fellow soldiers”.
Reached for comments by this publication, Eswatini highly regarded human rights lawyer Sibusiso Nhlabatsi said, in the absence of enforcement measures seeking to ensure adherence to the constitutional order, security officers will continue to kill civilians with impunity.
“The constitutional order was meant to ensure equality before the law but it seems security officers even if they can kill innocent civilians, they are not held accountable. It is for these reasons they unnecessarily exercise unreasonable force and kill people with impunity,” said the human rights lawyer.
