OPINION: FSRA Board Chairperson Reverend Senzo Hlatjwako who allegedly assisted Chinese nationals to enter Eswatini illegally must also account why Status Capital R100million paid by businessman Dave Van Niekerk did not reach emaSwati investors.

When Reverend Senzo Hlatjwako, the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) Board Chairperson attempted to soften me up in an attempt to block the multibillion Chinese nationals story, I was very surprised to note that he was even thinking “its possible to put on hold such a ‘big’ story threatening State security”.

Indeed, this is not just a fraud, illegal gambling or extortion case, any security officer with training in intelligence and security will understand the broader threat to State security after the influx of the Chinese and other foreign nationals, these people are capable of hacking the country’s system and take over the digital Government operations.

Cyber criminals can quietly walk on the streets of Mbabane or Manzini as if they are innocent Chinese investors when in fact, they have long digitally taken over the country, Jin Houyun was recently arrested in Eswatini and is wanted in China for defrauding citizens over R2billion in a pyramid scheme.

Reverend Senzo Hlatjwako and his “out-on-bail” wife Misiwe Jele-Hlatjwako who allegedly assisted these foreigners to enter our country and engage in illegal gambling and extortion must account, these alleged criminals compromised the security of this country.

But apart from this scandal, FSRA Board Reverend Senzo Hlatjwako is allegedly blocking the R100million paid by Status Capital Building Society (SCBS) permanent member David Van Niekerk from reaching emaSwati who invested their money, there’s a lot going on even in this matter.

Even FSRA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ncamiso Ntshalitshali must know that it’s just a matter of time, the truth will come out, we don’t want alleged corporate criminals in this country who enjoy a good life by grabbing money or stealing from the poor and financially struggling emaSwati.

The citizens of this country who invested their money at Status Capital were hoping to receive what is due to them after businessman Dave Van Niekerk assisted in recovering part of the monies, what is preventing the distribution to the investors?.

But it’s just a matter of time, the truth will come, we can’t have alleged corporate criminals enjoying life by stealing from the poor and vulnerable, some emaSwati who invested at Status Capital died of stress related diseases but, the FSRA Board Chairperson, CEO and members of the Management are enjoying a good life.
