MBABANE: It’s now official; Financial Services and Regulatory Authority (FSRA) Board Chairperson Reverend Senzo Hlatjwako will be arrested upon return from Cape Town in connection with the widely reported Chinese multibillion illegal gambling and extortion scandal.
Very senior sources within the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) Executive Command told this Swaziland News that, Hlatjwako will be apprehended immediately upon arrival from South Africa where he is attending a workshop for the FSRA Board and Management.
“A warrant of arrest has been issued”, said the insider within the law enforcement agency.
Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Eswatini Police Spokesperson had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
On another note, Reverend Hlatjwako is alleged to be making efforts to meet King Mswati for “kwembula ingubo” he allegedly instructed his emissaries to meet Mswati and apologize on his behalf hoping that, the King will stop the arrest.
Reverend Hlatjwako stands accused of assisting over one thousand (1000) Chinese nationals to illegal enter Eswatini and engage in illegal gambling and extortion but so far, the the Eswatini police have arrested about two hundred (200) Chinese nationals and other foreigners.
